Last night Luke told me he swallowed his corn after dinner. Specifically he said, "It's in my tummy." I saw a flicker of guilt pass his eyes and a glance at the trash can. Much to my chagrin, i saw a chewed up glop of yellow kernels on top of the empty box and wadded up tissues. He was immediately scooped out of the bathtub, jammified and put in his bed at 6:30 pm. Lying is not acceptable we chided. He cried, moaned and finally fell asleep. Hence the waking up at 5:30 am this morning, which is usually my ALONE time on the bike and to eat my cereal in peace. And what's the first thing he realized? It was April fool's day. So once 7 am rolled around he was allowed to go "fool" daddy and tell him that the rabbit was out of his cage. Bad, Bad, Bad timing.
