We survived another day! As promised.......
THE GOOD:
1) Again - Weather....Un....be.....liev.....a.....ble. 80+ again. Sunny. Not humid. Just kicked ass. Pool again at 9 at night. And thanks to Coppertone no one has a sunburn to suffer through.
2) Magic Kingdom. Amazing. I honestly sobbed when we sat in front of the castle and watched the princesses and mickey and minnie dance. Watching Rachel mesmerized with this look of amazement. Knowing how she has talked about this for months. This morning on the bus over there......"Mom I need to see the princesses VERY VERY bad!" So when we sat there savoring the sunshine, sights and sounds, mixed with the emotion of what we've been there the past year and why and how we are here right now just overwhelmed me. I had tears and sunscreen dripping off my cheeks. Probably quite a sight for onlookers to see a 39 year old overcome with emotion watching rodents and divas twirl around.
3) Fantasy Land. Dumbo, Cinderella's Carousel - Just perfect for the kiddos. Then we made the mistake of taking the Scary Snow White Adventure Train (thinking how scary can it be??????). Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllll, Let's just the girl freaked. The scary Witch ("Itch" in Rachel speak) was enough to induce hysterics. Luke was pretty much on the same level on the freak out scale. So we are trying to calm them down and promising the Friendly Lovely Dwarves, when Surprise - Lights on, train stops. We are stuck. So we have to stall and keep them calm. Lucky enough the delay was brief and the dwarves delivered as promised so we avoided psychiatric admission. They both left the ride berating the "scary itch" and saying "NEVER NEVER ever again do I want to go on that!" Luckily the next place we saw was "It's a small small world." We entered hoping this would be the remedy for my poor scarred children's minds. Bingo.....Half way through the ride Rachel stood up and said...."THIS IS MAKING ME VERY VERY HAPPY!" Mission Accomplished. :)
4) Luau at Polynesian Resort. Holy Moly. WOW WOW WOW. There are not enough words to describe how cool this was. First of all that resort is fabulous with an awesome slide and mountain and waterfall in the pool. And there is a beach! Trust me we got to know the place well since the person at the desk told us it was 45 minute monorail ride from Magic Kingdom. Well, we decided my sis and mom heard her wrong because it was more like 4 TO 5 minutes. So we were there PLENTY early. Had a glass of pinot grigio while we waited to be seated. Yum - that took the edge off. Finally we get seated and the food was great (pineapple, yummy mandarin salad, coconut bread, ribs, chicken and fried rice). Plus a fabulous Pina Colada. :) But the best part was the entertainment. Amazing dancers. And the show was long. Just a plethora of different types of dances demonstrated from various islands. And the male dancers? Well let's just say they weren't wearing much and as my niece described them....."Stuffed and Buffed." LMAO. The finale was the fire eater/ juggler. WOWZA! Luke had eyes the size of saucers and kept muttering....."He's CRAZY!" It was exciting, entertaining, and fascinating.
THE HILARIOUS:
1) Watching my mom and I get stuck when ducking under a chain tonight to get in bus line. We had backpacks on and the backpacks got caught on the chain. So we were stuck in a crouching, half stooped over position. But we were laughing so hard we couldn't get ourselves undone right away. Yeah - it provided some entertainment for people waiting to board.
3) Update on THE HILARIOUS from yesterday......Guess who got targeted for another survey today? Yup My BIL Tom. We were all laughing so hard as soon as the guy started talking to him that the poor surveyor was mystified so Tom just said..."Been there done that." They guy walked away.
THE BAD:
1) Leaving hotel was a bit delayed this morning because as we were waiting to board a bus, the driver noticed he was dropping oil. And I mean DROPPING like all of it. Not a leak. So we had to wait for a replacement bus.
2) 3 different rides today "temporarily stopped" for a few minutes. Nothing major....just mildly annoying.
