First Funny - No my child was not on the street begging! Well not REALLY! But Kind of LOL We were at Relay for Life and there was a "Lil Farmer" contest. So we cheesed her up in her Osh Kosh Patriotic Bib Dress and cowboy hat. She had to go around to all the camps at the event and collect money for our Team's contribution . Well here was the shot of her with the stash. The funniest part was when all the kids gathered after the time limit the Staff person running the contest asked me how much she had. I told her 100 bucks (My mom had added a dollar so she was at an even 100). So then my mom and dh saw the staff lady go over to family members and tell them to add some more money to her niece/nephew so they would win. Well that made my mom mad so she added another 20. So right before they were to go on stage I told her that Rach now had 120 due to a late contribution. Well I saw her run over to her family again. Sure enough when they got on stage her relatives had 130! LOL It was no biggie there really wasn't anything they won besides the title. Oh well - the money went to a good cause!
Now Serious - This was taken on Christmas Eve after I gave all the kids and my Dad their new shirts. The kids' say "My Grandpa drives a School Bus." Dad's said "I never learned to swear until I drove school bus." You can tell dad looks yellow in this pic. This was the beginning of the end. He had just come home from 2 days in the hospital where they found the spots on the liver and pancreas. I think on some level we all knew it was our last Christmas with him. I had ordered the shirts months before when we never knew he was sick at all. 2 weeks later after biopsy results and a last ditch trip to U of M he was gone to heaven
