My favorite Aunt Carolyn died 3 months after my wedding in 2000.
My Gram survived it over 25 years ago.
My friend Julie's mom is a survivor.
My cousin's wife's mother died a few years ago when her 3 daughters were all in their 20s.
Dr. Randy Pausch, diagnosed with terminal cancer, delivered a last lecture on life lessons that has been viewed online over a million times. What would be in your life lessons lecture?
Wow - just read this story about Dr. Pausch. Hits a little close to home for me. The scariest part is I fear every day for the same disease to hit me. Knowing my grandma and dad both had it. This guy is so young. Makes me shake just thinking about it hitting me while my kids are still little.
My life lessons?
1)Make memories. As I look back at pictures of my dad and Gram and other loved ones I've lost. I realize that pictures help us to hold on to those memories. Those pictures are so valuable to me. It's like one little shred of something to cling to.
2) Smell the roses. Take time to play. Realize how blessed you are.
3) Don't sweat the small stuff. Ask yourself...."Is it going to matter in 20 years?"
4) Make yourself love-able. Make people love being with you and miss you when you're gone.
I'm still working on all these myself but I think about them more and more.

Worth: house, more expensive car with side airbags for second row, fun times with special people where you make memories
Not Worth: i hate spending money at grocery store.

Luke will be Mags (Magglio Ordonez from the Detroit Tigers). Got the curly wig and just need a hat to glue some hair to and make letters for his Tiger shirt.
Rachel will be a princess or dancer....whatever strikes her fancy that day. She has all the gear.
